2014 Cherry Pie Stanly Ranch Pinot Noir. Winemaker Jayson Woodbridge, owner and winemaker of Hundred Acre, created Cherry Pie as a single Vineyard, 100% Pinot Noir wine from Stanly Ranch in Carneros.
91 Points, Robert Parker's Wine Advocate. "The 2014s, which will be released next year, all look strong and of similar quality to their 2013 counterparts. The fruit is ripe, the texture is terrific and they are gorgeous Pinot Noirs, but more on them when we get closer to release date. Sadly, the production of all of these Pinot Noirs is relatively small, just like the Cabernet Sauvignons, averaging 600-1,000 cases of each."
90 Points, Wine Spectator. "Fruit-driven, gushing with lively plum, cherry and raspberry flavors, showing subtle shadings of anise, mineral, herb and cedar. An easy-to-enjoy, complex, ready-to-drink style, offering richness and flair." –JL
Tasting Notes from the Winery: Dense ruby in color, the 2014 Stanly Ranch Pinot Noir first shows aromas of crushed berry, fresh lavender and rose with cola undertones. The palate is full-bodied in texture, showing bountiful notes of raspberry jam, baked strawberries and a hint of cherry cola atop cocoa flavors and powdered tannins. Laden with the same bold fruits as on the nose, the mid-palate shows layer upon layer of cranberry, dried rose petal and vanilla, carrying through the long finish.
Varietal: 100% Pinot Noir
